Re: Tube materials for rifle-caliber monocore
I've built a handful of cans. I'm not worried about Titanium wearing, I think it is a forever can material. I would be concerned with aluminum. Don't forget the option of 4140/4130 steel construction, as light as stainless and stronger too. At this point in my building, I'm more about light weight. ...

Re: Under 1100fps with bulk High Velocity 22LR?
For what it's worth, I'm planning on building an integral Ruger Mk2 suppressed pistol. I've been told that 3.5-4" barrel will keep most bulk pack sub-sonic. I haven't tested it yet. I'm planning on going with a 3.5" barrel. You may already know that velocity will change based on temp, humi...

Might be a good idea, Finding time to get it done and searching for the photos would take me a while. Not being sarcastic at all, but if you put something together I'll make a sticky.

Hated to see your post wallow without a response. Fact is this site used to be the best place on the web for suppressor builders. Spam took over a couple years ago and the site owner sort of abandoned the site for a while. Most of the folks with all the knowledge got tired of the spam and lack of up...

Re: 5.56mm Sealed Can Build - Ongoing - UPDATE 10/6/2017
So im assuming everyone left this thread long ago so my question above remains unanswered. Fortunately I did find answers so ill just toot my own horn here. Leaving the first blast baffel (simply a round bore hole) is whats most recommended if you want accuracy. You can also port the blast baffle, ...

Re: 3 form 1's submitted
Well....... A big thank you to Capt. Link! He sent me a PM with some ideas for a monocore, but it would make the integra barrel too long for what I want. I wanted a monocore to work because it would make mounting the suppressor tube easier. However making the monocore would require some tooling and ...

Re: 3 form 1's submitted
Out of curiosity what makes it unsuited for the shorter barrels of 22 rimfire? The simple baffles work better at lower pressure of a rifle. A tradeoff for ease of construction. How would it be affected by porting the barrel near the muzzle into a large area created by the tube extending behind the ...

Re: 3 form 1's submitted
there are a few things I can't get out of my head; first, I keep reading that 22 rimfire isn't hard to suppress. second, I see that TBA and others use monocores in their Ruger Mark integral builds and folks seem to like the sounds. so that makes me wonder how good of a monocore would I really have t...

The straight eight is unsuited for short barrels but is outstanding for the low velocity gases of a rifle. I have some details that may help your project.

3 form 1's submitted
Well, just got 3 new form 1's submitted for 22 caliber. Going to do 3 Ruger MK 1 integrals. We'll see how long it takes. Really really wish I could experiment. I'm torn between doing a version of Capt. Link's "Straight 8", and a stack of double clipped cones. I like the idea of a monocore ...

Re: Is There Such a Thing as "Too Much" Suppressor?
first, Yes a suppressor can be too big. second, solvent traps and parts have for all practical purposes been shut down. What you see from China will get intercepted and you will get a note from the ATF. rimfire cans run about 1" OD, and 6" long. give or take Centerfire rifle up through the...

Re: 22 rimfire- Omega vs Cones vs K's
Don't trust the artwork of the Leasure patent I have some details not mentioned. The volume of his suppressors is tiny and dispels all thought about needed cubic inches for a caliber. The design is still used but has gone to the spook market. I have two very similar designs ,the straight eight and ...

Re: 22 rimfire- Omega vs Cones vs K's
I'm going to throw you a curve ball with a little known design by John D Leasure US5164535A. Typical cans used three to four baffles with a half inch spacing. Performance was astonishing. Artwork on the patent looks like flat baffles with a cross-flow feature. Very interesting. I've also wondered a...

I am far from an expert, but my gut tells me that porting a baffle that already has a 1/2" hole in it isn't going to do much.

Thank you sir for the thank you sir. My project is going to be an 'integral' Ruger Mk2. I am looking at about 3.5" barrel, of which about 2.25 will be forward of the receiver. A 1" tube approx 8.5" long extending back over the exposed barrel to the receiver. A combo muzzle brake and s...

22 rimfire- Omega vs Cones vs K's
Assuming the same length can, same length barrel and same ammo, is there any definitive leader as to the best baffle choice for 22 rimfire? Assuming Form 1 build, with lathe and milling machine available, is there a clear 'better choice"? Pros and cons to the various styles?
