Re: The NRA Clause in Obama’s Health Care Reform Law: allgov

In June 2011, Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed into law a bill that forbade pediatricians from asking parents if they have guns in their home, a practice that was considered routine with new parents in order to encourage them to engage in gun safety. However in July 2012 a federal judge blocked imple...

Re: Very interesting site

It just worked for me, not sure why you cant access the site. It did take a few moments to load, i just had to be patient. You pasted the abbreviated text description of a link (from some other site, I assume) rather than the link itself. Forums shorten long URLs (notice the ellipsis in the middle ...

Re: rust

I sometimes do the same thing on parts for my '55 Buick with citric acid powder. I bought a big old bag of it on ebay (something like 15 pounds of the stuff) for about $20, and a few teaspoons of it mixed with a gallon of water will clean up old bolts and other small parts in a few hours. However, t...

Re: How do you carry?

I'm not being obtuse about anything, but it's pretty common for people who don't live down here to just wave the hand and suggest different clothing. That being said, I make this point all the time -- including earlier in this thread: Unless you've got a RPG with a reload pouch slung over your back,...

Re: Transfer from closed corp to trust tax free?

Could you transfer the corporation to another state that doesn't require minimum taxes? That's an interesting idea. It's called "domestication." I looked into it when a prospective buyer for a business I had kept saying he wished it was a Wyoming company. It's relatively cheap and easy, n...

As Continuity pointed out...you did get his point didn't you?....If you're serious about carrying a serious weapon My dad lives in PA, and he carries all sorts of stuff that would require a heat-stroke-inducing wardrobe to carry in FL. It's good advice in general, but when it's 98 degrees outside w...

Re: What if law-abiding citizens decided to ignore an AWB?

Not to mention that there are ATF employees on this site. Most people would be surprised how fast they pick up on new gun/shooting sites. We had our local site open for less than a week before we started getting hits from federally-related IPs. Of course, we have a lot of local LEOs on our site, to...

Side note... The phrase: "I can't do this" has become a major pet peeve of mine. As soon as I saw that in the story, I knew everything I needed to know about this guy. Nothing screams Drama Queen to me like those four words, and lately everybody is saying it, as if their life is just some ...

Re: What if law-abiding citizens decided to ignore an AWB?

I would go as far to say that you probably can't even find an AR now. If you do, it's from a private seller cashing in on the frenzy and will be priced much higher than normal. My FFL buddy says he can't find anything in stock with the distributors. And he's sitting on a whole pile of "buy me ...

Re: New year, same economy

We'll be lucky if it's the same economy. Increased spending and increased taxes are projected to cost each working citizen around 10% of their income, on average (some calculations put it as "low" as 6%, and I have calculated my personal exposure at a whopping 14% decrease). I never though...

Interesting because it's from a self-avowed leftie, but there is plenty of crap there, too, like insisting that Obama's position on guns is "conspicuously moderate," which is a particularly sad statement because it comes shortly after he admits Obama isn't moving on guns due to "a lac...

CFLs suck but it does look like LED bulbs are coming down in price. I think LEDs are ok for commercial use. I just remodeled my office building ... we ripped out all the old optic-nerve-raping fluorescent fixtures and went with indirect lighting via track lights with LED bulbs instead of halogens. ...
