Re: Bendersquint aka Matt Please contact me via PM

Aww s--t, my bad, ... I didn't realize this was a 2013 thread. I saw May/June and thought this was a recent month-old thread. My fault CThomas/Bender. At any rate, Bender has gotten in touch with me! Image

My mistake.

Re: Specwar 7.62 on M92 Pap

You shot a full power 7.62x39mm from a 10" barrel out of a 9mm Liberty Mystic? Given that it's got a bore for a .355" projectile, there is certainly more tolerance to accommodate a sloppy mount without a baffle strike than a true .30cal suppressor would have... but I'm just surpris...

Specific question(s) about AAC $200 Damn The Man promotion?

So, with the promotion and everything, I ended up purchasing a 762-SD about 2 weeks ago. Then yesterday I picked up an Evo9 at a price I couldn't pass up. I filled out the online portion of the promotion registration and have a few questions. I tried calling AAC customer service this morning but got...

If you could compare to a 762SDN6 side by side, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 762-SD versus 762-SDN-6 ... which is quieter?

it's my understanding there are differences in the baffle stack to make the SD cheaper to produce than the SDN6. For one, I seem to remember Jason say that the SD core is not fully welded. I wouldn't be surprised if the bigger can is quieter, but if it has different baffles as well... well then it's...

762-SD versus 762-SDN-6 ... which is quieter?

So I had a 762-SDN-6 approved a short while ago. I had planned on using it on a 14.5" .308 AR and 20" bolt rifles but with the $200 promotion I decided to just get a different suppressor for my bolt rifles. So in the mean time, I just gut done ordering the larger 762-SD for use on my alrea...

Re: Cure for 51t wobble - O-ring?

If the suppressor wont fully engage the final tooth fully and backs off to cause wobble, I've heard of guys using some fine emery cloth or a stone on the mating surface of the mount to take off a few thousandths and get the last tooth to engage.

Possible to have a 762-SD made with .260/6.5mm baffles?

I know you can use a .260rem/6.5CM on a regular 30cal suppressor with good results, but is it possible to order a 762-SD type suppressor custom made with 6.5mm baffles (and labelled for 6.5mm) to get the better performance of correct sized baffles?

I was just curious...

When is the new 762-SD supposed to hit the market?

I'm looking for a second 762 can to dedicate to my bolt gun I already have a 51T mount it so the new 762SD would be a good candidate. But I was wondering if the 762-SD is actually available to purchase? If so, what distributors might I be looking to get in touch with? My dealer said the can shows as...

Re: Uuggghhh... possible for a brake mount to cause keyholin

I contacted the barrel mfg and they said they'll take a look at the whole upper. I figure that best case scenario, I'll just have to get a new 51T brake...worst case scenario, I'll just end up buying a new barrel (from elswhere), too.

Re: Uuggghhh... possible for a brake mount to cause keyholin

The bore and barrel look beautiful. Headspacing is great, there was no excessive fouling or overly shallow lands and I can't drop (or push) a .308 bullet down the bore with a rod... plus it must seal well enough to cycle great. I don't see how it couldn't be a .308 bore. I never thought to try measu...

Uuggghhh... possible for a brake mount to cause keyholing?

So I put together a 14.5" .308 AR and took it out for the first time today after checking the headspace. All parts are brand new and it cycles well. I visually checked the suppressor alignment looking down the bore a couple days ago, it looks perfectly centered - so the brake must be well-align...

Re: Rem700 SPS AAC not compatible with AAC Brake mount?!? (P

with added counterbore, the washers had room to conform to the rounded shoulder (on my setups). YMMV. Well, I went ahead and gave it a go with the "deform the washers" strategy, Jason. The .008+.015 was a just a hair past aligned when torqued a fair amount... almost unnoticeable, but both...

Re: Rem700 SPS AAC not compatible with AAC Brake mount?!? (P

counterboreing the brake isn't the issue, it already has enough of a small chamfer to be able to butt up against the shoulder without any washers. it's the peel washers that hit the base of the treads before the shoulder. It doesn't matter how big of a counterbore the brake has if the washers can't ...

Rem700 SPS AAC not compatible with AAC Brake mount?!? (Pics)

So I ordered a Remington SPS AAC-SD in 308 to take advantage of a 762SDN6 suppressor I have pending. I went to install the 51T brake on it yesterday and noticed something odd about the factory threading. There was no thread relief at the shoulder. This probably wouldn't be an issue since the brake c...

Re: brake mount shim washers not centered - an issue?

Thanks. I actually tried to take the brake off when I got home to fix the shims and couldn't budge the brake - damn rocksett, LOL. Anyways, the bore of the barrel and threads mic within .001" of concentric and looking down the bore the brake baffles looked concentric as well. So being only 14.5...

brake mount shim washers not centered - an issue?

Just got an upper back from the gunshop and noticed that the shim washers are not even close to being centered. Will this cause problems? Should I just Remove the brake mount and reattach it (it was rocksett a few hours ago)? http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g45/jrm33/Gun%20Stuff/20131201_134819.jp...

I'm sure I could look it up, but does water effectively absorb the wavelength in your laser? I think I remember that CO2s put out long/thermal infrared or something. Re: Why Suppressors work: REAR CAP & TUBE - (I)

To add on to Q1, in addition to finer threads requiring less material/barrel thickness, I would think a shallower thread helix converts less of the linear suppressor thrust force into a tangential torque force - thus lessening the likelihood of unscrewing. Said otherwise, the shallower helix produce...
