Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Sorry that I haven't been in the spotlight much lately...

Post by LavaRed »

I'm sorry that I have not presented much in the way of new projects lately. I've just been facing some pretty major personal issues in my life and getting significant crap sorted out before moving on to the next steps. In addition, with the coffee situation going badly things are a bit rough. So I've had to put most things on hold.
Hopefully once I get all of this sorted out and some significant changes are underway I will get back to the same standard that you are all used to from me.
Thank you for listening,
LavaRed

Good friend Lava, sincerest 'good-vibes' to you from New England tundra.
As is said in the Bible " ... and this too shall pass".

A wise man told me so very long ago: "Hey kid, no matter how
bad things occur while you are living, the alternative sucks."

To put things in perspective just think how terrible you would really feel
if you were to be as ugly and stupid as Maxine-Pad Waters:

MAXINE WATERS WARNS 170 MILLION JOBS COULD BE LOST DUE TO SEQUESTRATION CUTS
— BUT THERE’S A HUGE PROBLEM WITH HER ESTIMATE

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 134 million people working in the United States.

For laughs to cheer you up: << http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02 ... -estimate/ >>

Fondest regards!

Thanks guys :) . Hopefully I'll be able to get stuff sorted out within the short term.

I will continue posting and participating as usual, I hope. I just won't have the time, resources nor the emotional clarity to devote to design for a bit.

Lava, I'm completely ignorant of the situation you're in and, it's none of my business but, I send my best and God speed. You've been one of the most productive, ingenious, and authoritative posters here, and I know we all hope you're back to 100% soon.

Bill

Hang in there. We all go through some tough spots as evidenced by my Wyoming thread of the other day.

Lava, hang in there brother. Whatever it is you're going through, you'll figure out a way to overcome it. Maybe now is a good time to fire up the résumé and send it to all the major silencer manufacturers en Los Estados!?!?!? Lol.

God bless, Rusty M.

Hey, I've got you covered on the coffee situation. Ask any argentinian worth his salt what he's drinking. He will answer mate (Mah-teh), it's kind of like a herbal tea but you drink the infusion through a metal straw, it looks totally like drug paraphernalia (sp?). It's main ingredient is roasted leaves of the Ilex paraguariensis (wikipedia yerba mate).

That stuff is like coffee on steroids but no digestive issues at all once you get used to it.
You might want to be close to a bathroom the first time you try it since it actually helps if you're wanna go.

Try it, that's my sincere recommendation!

To paraphrase Arrested Development: I've made a huge mistake.

I wrongly assumed that the "Coffee Problem" LavaRed referred to was health related, not of an agricultural nature. Sorry. I'll read up on the subject before sprouting an opinion the next time
