Plastic bottle

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

On the same level as the silencers in the B&W film noire detective movies
of the 1940's such as Boston Blackie (no, I shall not submit to being PC -
politically corrupt and rename him "Boston African American" :) ).

Now these were real silencers: small, the size of a fat 3" tampon;
needed no external threading as they screwed into the barrel itself;
but most impressive of all ...they even fit into a snub nosed .38. And around
101 DB.

Take that Silencer Co.

Oh, "real plastic bottle effectiveness as silenser " includes
shattering and sending shrapnel all over the place, hitting the user ...
especially if you have not emptied the ginger ale out.

And a positive: gives LEOs a belly laugh as they nominate the perpetrator
for this year's Darwin Award.

Suppression difference is like a .22LR to .22short both loud!
The only reason after 243 years the government now wants to disarm you is they intend to do something you would shoot them for!

Don't forget to ask about bed pillows and timing the shot with a clap of thunder.

Nicely done, Sir.

And the bottle suppressor aficionado needs to wear a
Night-Cap along with it.

Absolutely, everybody knows all barrels here in the US are threaded because if someone here buys a gun without a threaded barrel they get it threaded to catch the solvents in a plastic bottle because here in the U.S. every gun owner is extremely environmentally conscious. It is insulting to infer that such an adapter would be used by someone in the U.S. for any other purpose.

Well, I have heard that in some parts of the world people are so conscious of they surrounding that they tried the bottle as a catalyst converter. ;-)
Heard from a well know German Silencer expert that a large bottle filled with spray polyurethane foam for the construction seems to do a great job, He did scientific research to all kinds of environmental friendly filling for Bottles.

If lead bullets are so dangerous for the heavens and the earth that they need to be banned in Cali than the law should mandate that the residue from gun cleaning operations should have to be contained via a proven method, so oil filters and adapters for all

That was the first thought that came to my mind as well. :lol: "From aboud ahudret yarts, vit a tvendy tu" :?

In actuality however, and for a .22 cal only, a plastic water, soda, whatever, bottle can be made to work as a pretty efficient short term, makeshift suppressor, good for 8 to 10 shots. Nothing I'd want to be seen using but...

"and how effectiveness? ( like are in "Shooter" movie? ;) )"

Well, I don't teach, "How to break the law using ordinary household items" but, all it usually takes is a little imagination to figure out a whole lot of stuff.

The point here is, if you're interested in learning how to legally build a unit based upon professional principles, and with the ability to last you many, many years, this is the right place to be but, no one here want's to assist in anyone getting arrested, or worse, injured from a "makeshift" anything.

Pretty much every time I take one or more of my suppressed centerfire rifles to the local Rod and Gun Club, some codger has to come up to me and inform me that I could have just used an empty soda bottle or, my favorite, a potato and it would have been just as effective.

I've given up arguing with them. My usual response is along the lines of "Wow, do I ever feel dumb for spending all this money". :roll:
