Freeze plugs have disappeared

The supply of 34.3mm freeze plugs have dried up. Got my stamp for another can and I cannot find any of the Dorman 555-104 plugs besides some rip-offs on Ebay selling a .59 cent piece for $4.59 each.

Any alternative ideas for baffles?

Just placed an order with Summit, out of stock, estimated delivery= June. Oh well, what's another few months wait.

I tried JC Whitney, RockAuto, Advance, autozone, ect.... no luck.

Can't get it to order from Jegs, error comes up when I try.

I may try to form some fender washers, they are cheap if they don't work. Need to figure out a good spacer material.

I may be dumb or ignorant... but why that particular size? and metric, of all?

Exactly. Find a close substitute. A foot of tube isn't expensive.

^^ Assuming you haven't already done extensive work without the freeze plugs on hand. In that case, yeah you've got to source them.

No, I really mean "what are they for".
I assume the'll be used as baffles in a DIY suppressor, but why that particular size? Is tubing with that ID so common?

I assume "they are for" sliding into a tube and making a suppressor, like you say. And that is what I think both of us are wondering... if not these particular plugs, buy another size, and a tube and raw stock to match.

As I mentioned, the only things that might be stopping him might be...

1) He's done a bit of work already for that diameter with the tube and end caps, or
2) He has plans that he EXACTLY wants to follow, or
3) He cannot source tubing of another diameter

Whatever, it's up to him now.

For what it worth I have a box of 10 ea. 555-103 36.5 mm high wall plugs sitting on the shelf. Will need to increase your tube a wee bit If you could use them let me know...

You seem a little on the "frugal" side to have spent $200 on a tax stamp. But here you go, took all of 5 minutes max.

If its only a .22 or hornet they work great, a bit heavy and wide but very easy for the first timer. Use 35mm plugs very very tight fit , about 1/2'' apart no spacers ,about 6'' long. form the plugs into a m , People think if its to simple its crap but they work very well
