buying baffles as a 07/02 @Bender

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

buying baffles as a 07/02 @Bender

Post by john.t.little1 »

A local 07/02 told me he knows a few places where he can buy baffles in bulk that confused me and was looking for input from y'all.

My guess would be that he buys them from a Silencer manufacturer.
Than use these in his tube, with his connector and endcap.
That way he would not need a CNC for mass producing baffles - K's - Cones.
Most silencers in US are made from same tubing specs.
To me that sounds logical.

If a gunsmith over here had the right papers he could order them from me to, my CNC can do mass production of K's, cones , Frusto-cones, domes or what ever they want, scooped, scalloped, ported, stepped.
Just a Programm that runs, materials in stock are 17/4, 316, 309, inconel718, Ti Gr23, Ti Gr5, almost all other 300 series. etc etc
Have lots of these in stock for cans I produce anyhow.
I would even produce them under private label / markings, just not the special Police and military stuff I make.

So again for a manufacturer that needs his machining to run so he does not loose money on these that would sound logical.
How this would work in US that is something I do not know.

An 07/02 can subcontract to another 07/02 for parts.

However every 07/02 that I have seen that are selling baffles aren't worth the metal they are made from.

The ones with excellent baffles have their own cans and don't sell parts.

Not an accurate statement, dims differ between just about every manufacturer.

Bender
I was referring to outside dim of tubing.1" for 22 1,5 for CF rifles etc etc
That differs from over here.

Hi Gunny,

Do you accept order from the country where silencer is not a regulated item?

Hi Gunny,

Sorry for the late reply, Yes I can take orders.
BUT Silencers and parts are a controlled item here.
I do need to apply for export license, and on that license I need to fill out all information of Buyer, including documentation that He / She or the company is allowed to buy / have these parts.

So in short, yes we can, but it takes time for the paperwork to clear as we need an export license.
