9mm AR Can Complete

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

9mm AR Can Complete

Post by Enfield577 »

Hi Guys
reference my earlier thread viewtopic.php?f=10&t=132676 I just completed the build of a 9mm can for an AR, yes I know it is over heavy at 9.9 oz but this one was more of an experiment, you see in my previous thread I had made a large o/barrel can for my AR and that is very quiet. the idea with this one was to just reproduce the forward part to see how much difference the rear reflex chamber actually makes.

For the next one with the advice of Gunny and Bender (thanks gents) I will thin things down and get it a lot lighter

That said this was exactly what the guy wanted so that it kind of matches the upper that he has

Now it just needs finishing

Nice.

So.... How much of a difference does the reflex chamber make?

As promised back with results from firing.

If you remember this is just the front part of the over barrel can that I made for my AR, I have to say that I am pleased with the results and I would say hearing safe with sub-sonic ammo.

We also compared to my over barrel can and would say it is only about 10% or so louder, so worth the over barrel reflex chamber if you can but if not you should be able to make a good working can

Cheers

Enfield,

Nice job, your customer can be very happy with a silencer like this.

Great machining, Making things lighter is of later ;-0

I did some MP5 cans in 50mm with 1,5mm wall stainless 316.
These where coaxial dual tube design, great reduction even in FA.

Customers O so happy and what we call foolproof, one could kick in the door with these, comes to mind that might be what they do....
