Naming and engraving Form 1 can

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Naming and engraving Form 1 can

Post by Vagabond »

Now, i know you have to engrave your name (or trust name), city and state on the suppressor you create.

BUT..... is there any limit or legality issues with coming up with your own "DBA" or "company name"?

For example, i create a can and i fulfill the manufacture engraving requirements.

"Vagabond NFA Trust
Narwahlburg, Texas"

Then can i also engrave : Vagabond Silencer Works - Model: SilencerPew Z-22

Is there any legalities to giving myself a name like "Vagabond Silencer works"?

All names are made up to protect everyone.

You would also have to have the model name if you gave it one, the serial number and the caliber. As far adding your extra stuff ""Vagabond Silencer works"" it doesn't appear to matter.

As long as you engrave the ATF requirements.....
Name
City
State
Caliber
Model(if there is one on your form)
Serial number

Everything beyond that is just engravings and the ATF can care less as long as they can readily identify the firearm.
