YHM Maxim 45 clone Re-coring?

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

YHM Maxim 45 clone Re-coring?

Post by jdasilva »

I am considering buying a YHM Maxim 45 clone but was curious if anyone could replace the Sound Tech baffles (U.S. Patent #7,073,426) with a reproduction of the original Maxim.

The original Maxim silencer + rifle at the James D Julia Auction went for $13,800. Thats a little over budget lol

The clones are pretty cheap; Theres a 22 Woodsman on gun broker right now for <$300.

Just curious & if possible, what would be the cost?

Would it make sense to buy and re-core or just have it made the way you want from the start?

Honestly I wouldn't waste my money on one of them. Modern technology is soooo much better.
