First attempt .22LR suppressor.....pleased & thanks to you

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

First attempt .22LR suppressor.....pleased & thanks to you

Post by kombos »

Spent a lot of time reading and studying here to try to build my first .22LR suppressor.
I had a small Jet lathe and was so-so on it. Practiced my skills and got better, including
learning to cut threads.

Tube is 1.125" x .065" 7075. Muzzle cap and first baffle are stainless. All other pieces
are 7075. Not shown in the pic is the home anodizing. I did the baffles clear and the
end cap and tube in black. Overall length is 6 inches.

Using on an AR upper I built using a Tacccom 4" barrel. Very pleased with the results.
Took me quite a while to do it all but really enjoyed the project.

MANY thanks to you guys here for all your help and knowledge!

Nice, and you score extra points for color coordinating your post text and photo background.

Very nice. What did the suppressor end up weighing? How about a video of you shooting the suppressor?

Your success make me want to buy a lathe and give it a try myself, but I am thinking about moving in the next year and figure I should wait till after I move.

Great job.

Looks great and you have a lot of great looking baffles, no reason it shouldn't be sleeper.

Nice work!

Excellent work! What was your source for the 7075 tubing? Also, what grade stainless did you use?
