Micro Titanium build

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Micro Titanium build

Post by unknownpro »

I have cut this little guy a while back and never posted it here, thought I would share.. I designed this monocore to only for sound reduction but also for length and weight. I wanted a super small suppressor that you don't really notice in on a weapon and brings the loud noise down.

Length - 2.2"
Material- titanium
Bore- .242
Weight- 1.65oz
Model- UP22

here are a few pictures. if you have any question please ask...

Would you care to share a side view of the monocore? And perhaps a picture of it mounted on the host pistol? Looks like nice clean work!

I can get you a picture of it on a host weapon in a few hours. This girl also has a slightly longer sister, comes to 3.8oz but she is a stainless core with an 1/4 extra error. So if it was cut from titanium your looking at 2.5-3.2oz(that's my guess), maybe less.

I need to think on the core pictures. I know it's extremely hard if not impossible to build a unique design, but friends that's what I have here. Not sure I want to post it all online. Might get a legal document for this design, in the event the design ever becomes available for purchase.

I am speaking of a patent, not the tax stamp which I already have.

"Scared" ?
(lol)

Lots of people like to look at various designs ( myself included ) but no one is begging anyone to share.
If you want to that's cool and if not that's fine also.

Sorry, scared? Not in the least. I just weighed the relative values of handing my phone number out to a complete stranger against the possibility of seeing someone's home made monocore micro-suppressor and decided that it would have to be one very, VERY special design for me to imagine it was worth the trade. You're pleased with your results, good for you. For my part I share what I find, whether it's in my professional endeavours or in my various hobbies, one of which is suppressor building. Patents... well, let's just say that kind of thinking makes my skin crawl.

My term scared was more towards...disappeared/missing. Not sure why anyone would actually be scared. Lol. Guess I'll stick to my regular build forums.

Your approach to sharing your build is odd, that's all. It's a bit like showing some ankle... then dropping your skirt hem in false modesty. You started a thread, apparently with the intention of sharing information, then you stopped. That doesn't merit further discussion from the rest of it does it? Not much to talk about. No decibel readings. No baffle design. No video. It's a non-starter discussion-wise.

I respect you wanting to keep your design, to yourself. But, using a, possible, future patent as a reason to hold secrets is pointless. If you do receive a patent it becomes public information and anyone with ill intentions won't be stopped. If you're worried about someone seeing it here and copying it, before you get a patent; make design copies, seal in envelope, and mail to yourself. The postmark will hold up in court to your intellectual property being held to a date.

Regardless, your machining looks great and I hope your finished product performs beyond your expectations.

I posted it here not to share every detail on how it was build, but more to prove a point that people can still building unique items. Not everything needs to be inside the parameters of normal suppressor building.

Do you know how many threads are created and show a start and finished picture with nothing in the middle... Lots

Not everyone posts to give all details. Will I ever really have a product that is worth something? Probably not, but then again, just because you have a valued product doesn't mean you should give the design away either.

Thanks for viewing. Guess I am done here.

I like innovation and honest talk, you have every right to keep your privacy. We have members that share nothing unless it's garbage yet people fall all over themselves to talk to them.I guess it's like getting kicked in the nut's by a movie star and claiming you had intimate relations.
Mico's are very cool and some very quiet.I have never built a 2.00 suppressor but even a single baffle can reduce gas passage by 60% so quiet is in the ears of the creator.I tip my hat to the man with vision and innovation going where no one has gone before.

Its a third of a suppressor in length and suppression. It just takes the loud out of shooting and makes it more pleasant.A random core design built to mix it up in a limited length. Its well thought out and works well. Its a non typical build for these pages as its a true moderator and not a suppressor in the truest meaning.
I like it thank you for sharing :Image

Thanks guys, several have heard it and some have seen inside it. I also have a slightly longer design that is quite a bit better as a suppressor. I may post it in the next few weeks.

The idea was remove the annoying ring and build it super light weight.

Job accomplished, time to move on. Have 1/2 integral suppressed black out I am working on. It's like a hybrid design. May post it depending on how it turns out.

I didn't have any water so thought I would be funny and use other stuff. some of you guys had seen the video of the pistol shooting it dry. that was filmed with my cell phone, this was done with the sony a57 and the audio is more accurate.

Sounds like basically 1/2 the sound suppression at 1/3 the size of a typical 22lr Can. Which is a WIN.
