9mm Form 1

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

9mm Form 1

Post by Bman »

New to NFA stuff. Finally set up a trust and have a couple items in it and a few pending. Just got my form 1 back for a 9mm 9" long suppressor. This will be going on my 7.5" 9mm AR SBR. Whats a good dia tube to use? Would like to build it strong enough to handle a 300 blk when the stamp comes back for it.

Hole size for 9mm is pretty common in Titanium valve retainers so I would go that route.

From seeing c5_nc's builds, which are fantastic, I would recommend the retainers over freeze plugs.
Yes, the Ti retainers are costly, but you'll have a much better finished product.

Think in going with a titanium tube from sdt and titanium valve retainers. Have to research the best style to clip them. I have access to a bridge port at work.

Funny. I just sent in one for 9mm 9" tube. Ordered some ti tubing and some 7075 alum. It's going on a 5" barrel AR. I can't wait
