YHM qd mount threads

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

YHM qd mount threads

Post by Griz »

Does anyone know the thread specs for a YHM qd mount? I could blueprint them but am hoping someone here has already done it.

Thanks!

I have never done an ACME thread before. My plan is:
-Turn the Major diameter.
-Grind a HSS bit to the ACME profile
-Feed it in each pass at 14 degrees with the compound until I get to the minor diameter.
-Test fit the mount, if it's too tight, take a little off the sides of the thread unit it fits.
