multi caliber end cap

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

multi caliber end cap

So Griffin Armament Optimus

brings up some questions -
1) how do they (and others) get away with selling a suppressor with end caps in multiple calibers

2) on their 9mm suppressor they have an extension tube that takes a smaller bored rifle baffle
thus changing the size of the bore of the suppressor

3) they are delivering with multiple mounting assemblies - Pistol Booster and Minimalist taper mount

All the end caps require you to removed one size to use the other thus leaving you with a suppressor part free of the suppressor - how does this not violate ATF rules about having spare suppressor parts?

All the mounting modules require removing one to use as the other is installed on the can - how does this not violate ATF rules about having spare suppressor parts?

My form 1 I had planned to use the 5/8 threaded mount with the front of the tube a 1/2x28 threaded end cap then just reverse them when changing rifle platforms. I had thought about an Iris Diaphram front muzzle cap until I discovered I wanted to shoot with rifles having different threadings, but per ATF rules can't have spare threaded end caps floating around.

My guess would be that the end caps are NOT suppressor only parts.
They also work with this brake

This is the same way Silencerco sells their end caps "of the shelf". They fit the MAAD brake and thus are NOT suppressor only parts.

As far as adding an extension tube, well, I have no idea how that works. I know you can buy suppressors that come w/ this tube, allowing shorter configurations, but not buying one as an add-on.

Thanks for that - at least that answers part of my questions

Just drill the endcap hole .590" diameter, it'll be a multi caliber cap.

.900" diameter if you want to include 12 gauges in that mix.
I don't care what your chart says
