Has anyone created a "Solvent Trap" style silencer thats ejects the spent shell, cocks the hammer, and loads a new round for a Beretta 9mm 92A?
My attempt has resulted in a good noise reduction while firing a subsonic 9mm round, but it never ejects the fired round. I've tried replacing the slide spring with a less powerful spring....didn't help. Any suggestions to accomplish my requirements mentioned in the first sentence is appreciated.
My solvent trap is a "B" size tube with 11 freeze plugs, Blast chamber, and spacer.
Thank you.

Sounds like you need a recoil booster.RV12Pilot wrote:Has anyone created a "Solvent Trap" style silencer thats ejects the spent shell, cocks the hammer, and loads a new round for a Beretta 9mm 92A?

A lighter spring is not what you need. You should research recoil boosters or neilson devices.
When the slide cycles, the extra weight of the silencer will make it harder for the slide to move because the barrel isn't fixed to the frame, so a lighter spring would actually be detrimental in this case. If you are unable to incorporate a recoil booster into the design, you may be able to get it to work with a heavier spring though.
Perhaps a 16 or 18# may help. I'm pretty certain that factory springs are 14 lbs.
But even then, may not work.

11 fp's plus the tube and caps is not a light can.
Im not too optimistic that a heavier spring will help.
Start looking into boosters, just to have a leg up.

I don't know what the weight is.
I suppose that is a good question to ask. Especially with all of the freeze plugs.
But a can that isn't "too heavy", you may could get by with a heavier recoil spring.

If you have a B tube is threaded to accept a LID http://www.silencershop.com/gemtech-l-i-d-booster.html

Re: Beretta M92 Solvent Trap
I use a Gemtech Multimount on my 92fs with a fixed thread Adapter (no LID) with a 10# recoil spring.
Whoever said to use a heavier spring is mistaken.
I do suspect though that your can is too heavy and you won't get the gun to function with it as a direct thread on.
Also if you are limp wristing, the effects will be magnified in this condition. My wife has difficult with my setup sometimes for this reason.

Curious what your can weighs. Nice to not have to use a booster, ey

Not sure, I'll try and remember to bring it in to work and weight it on our postage scale.
If Gemtech publishes it, it is the original model with K baffles before they made them user serviceable with a monocore.

Finally remembered to bring the can in to weigh, the postage scale here says 9oz
