eBay vendors selling some questionable looking parts, to say the least.
"6" Solid Tube Fake Can Slip Over Muzzle Brake 1/2x28 TPI 223 5.56 Anodized Blue"
and
"7 Inch .223 1/2x28tpi Muzzle Brake 7075 Aluminium"
Has the HPA passed without my knowledge while I was OCONUS recently?
The 'muzzle brake' sure looks like the monocore innards of some commercial cans.
And the 'slip on cover' ... well sure looks like the 'high priced spread'.
Seriously, are these designs for 'muzzle brakes' really acceptable to the
guardians of 1934 act?

Without a link so we can see what you're looking at, we can only guess.
But I have seen a few muzzlebrakes that are identical to some of the monocore stacks that a certain manufacturer makes.

I don't care what your chart says

purchase these 'work arounds' ... reminiscent of a long-ago-read-in
on possible 'Honey Pots' ... for those aged community brethren.

Nothing wrong with the first one at all. It simulates a reflex suppressor but is a solid tube. The muzzle is clearly visible at the front of the fake can.
The second one would be a very loud muzzle brake.
To me, it's fine as is but if you were to thread the outside for a tube, you'd definitely be on BATFE's radar.
