Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Links to Ti suppressor builds. I did search.

I have an approved form 1.

I could do the SD tactical kit approach and spend about $400.00.

I think that the only successful Ti builds made machine from round bar.

I most likely will run supersonic 308, 460 Rowland.

How have those before me fared?

Please, let us not get into side discussions on the legal side! I will hire a lawyer for legal advice; I need help help with the physical concerns such as a good alternative to Ti or the best materials such as, bar, heavy wall pipe or tubing.

I will nail down the specs of the design when I am satisfied of which material to base this build on.
Thank you for positive or necessarily critical advice.

Some questions to help clarify if you will.....

What host will this be on?

How do you plan to build? From ready made parts sourced from others, or raw stock machines to size?

What equipment do you have to use for this build? Lathe? Mill? Drill press? Hand tools?

What are your goals?

Edited to add... design and materials are intertwined, change one and you can and often need to change the other.
