Bore size fro 5.7

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

This. Your minimum aperture size is largely dependent on your precision, but any tighter than .040" over bullet diameter often has negative impact on accuracy.

I typically run .050" over bullet diameter; my .22/5.56 stuff gets a .27" hole (drill size "I"). I've tried running 1/4", and you could actually hear how the bullets were destabilized by that close clearance.
