Can I weld on a cone?

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Can I weld on a cone?

Let's say I made a mistake drilling, cutting or filing and I'd like to fill that hole/gash/mark in. Can I weld it up?

This is all after it has been assembled and fired.

Technically, no. You'd be adding material, same as replacing a spacer, etc.

If you didn't post about it on the internets, it would be like it never happened

Good to know.

I was having a spirited conversation with a few people and this question was brought up. Figured I'd throw it out here and see what the replies would be.

Once the silencer is complete. Certain changes cannot be made. There is much debate on what constitutes "complete"
