A couple of Chinese form 1 cans.

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

A couple of Chinese form 1 cans.

Post by YugoRPK »

The top one is one of those big 10" x 1.7" scalloped monocores they sell on AliExpress for $50 although after 3-4 weeks I got my money back because it hadnt arrived and then a week later 3 of them came in the mail. I have no idea how that country stays in business. Everyone who had never used one told me it wouldnt work.Bullshit. It works great. The bottom one is a traditional K baffle deisign in .22LR. Its stupid quiet. I cut the relieve in the baffle face and on the k baffles skirt . Quietest .22LR Ive ever heard with subs although with that much volume and that many baffles I'd hope so.

Which upper conversion, for the 22lr, are you running?
Have you done any of the mods, to quiet them down? There are a couple.

Its a CMMG upper conversion with 4.5" dedicated barrel and sleeve. Standard pistol upper receiver. Nothing fancy.

I'll get some pics of the internals later. 9 K baffles .280 bore with clip and skirt cut.

The .22 is REALLY quiet with almost no FRP.

The 9mm is OK. Nothing to write home about but I did nothing to it other than bore the end cap. A little louder than my 45 Tirant on a 9mm. No bang.

This is the 9mm core.

Thanks a lot. I've seen both of these, also version of Gemtech's G-core and few others, so I was curious which version you got. Cool!

Do you have suggestions for modifications to the upper assembly itself?

The G core version looks like it has about a 5/8" hole running through it.

Currently, I'm using the Ball Bearing mod, I have the Delrin plate as a bolt buffer, and I make my own Delrin brrel collars.

You can buy the Delrin collar and buffer. The ball bearing mod has to be done. The thing is, not all bolts are ready for it. All my Spike's bolts had the hole in them already. My neighbor has the CMMG kits and none of his have the hole. Not an issue for me as I have a mill. If you already have the hole, making the detent holes in the bolt carrier can be easily accomplished with a couple strokes from a round file. 1/8" ball bearing and a small spring (or one cut down) work fine. This delays the bolt from opening and increasing port pop. It was actually a mod for running FA and slowing the cyclic rate.

Roger that. Sort of like the spring ball detent mod that people used to use on 10-22's to stop bolt bounce in full auto ( Does adding a roller lock make any gun into an H7K? :) ) I have a Ciener conversion kit, and it puts just about as much gas out of the ejection port as from the muzzle; Deadly in multiple vectors! The ball-detent approach might just improve it, thanks!

Yes, exactly.
The delrin collar and buffer help to reduce action noise.
