Removing spacer material for weight loss

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Removing spacer material for weight loss

Post by Joelpat »

When building a baffle/spacer design, could I drill holes in my spacers to remove material and shed some weight?
I'm guessing it wouldn't be a great idea for blast chamber spacers, it seems like the spacer wall is contributing something there. But in the other chambers, where the spacer is literally just acting as a spacer, is removing material a thing?

In my case my first two spacers are stainless, and all the others are Ti. The tube is Ti (SDTA).

Just curious.
