TouchDRO for lathe

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

TouchDRO for lathe

Post by Hard_ware »

Yuriy just got the new v2 glass scale dro boards in. $89 free shipping .
At yuriy’s toys . www.touchdro.com/store/diy-dro-glass-sc ... er-v2.html
Glass scales on eBay ~$40-60 each.
When I get mine in I will print up some magnetic mounts for quick attachment to lathe.
I am using the Shahe board https://www.touchdro.com/store/diy-dro- ... cales.html with cheap Shahe scales from amazon https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B089ZSG84J/ ... UTF8&psc=1
Search thingiverse for Shahe mounts I uploaded them for anyone to print. Epoxy some magnets and you can attach/remove on the 8x lathes.
The glass scales are the best but only work with the glass dro board.
He is working on new software that adds profile import feature and compound calculations. So as you advance the compound the x,y coordinates will update. Software is free and update will be as well.
If you want to cut inside profile just rezero your tool starting point say .050 past and .050 in.
Now when you cut the profile it will be .050 thick. I will post some videos showing example.
Cutting repeat parts will be easy, just follow the cutting profile you saved from first part.
Cutting a radius is now easy, plus you can calculate a radius as well.

Will post video on making profile and cutting.
