Hey all,
Long time listener, first time caller. I know this subject is probably beat to death by now, but I'm having issues with the search button and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I got my stamp back for my 9" .300blk SBR a few weeks ago, and now I'm wanting to F1 a suppressor considering how fast my SBR stamp came back (31 days).
The biggest things I'm looking for are sound/signature reduction and reliable enough to see lots of rounds in a short period while still remaining fairly compact. If I can tuck the can under a 15" rail and have no more than 2" hanging out, I'm good with that.
Where I'm stuck is the overall design, I had no idea the rabbit hole I found when I got into this. Distal chambers, cone type, spacing, clipping types, mouse holes, etc... There's a lot to process and I can't seem to come up with a good design. The can will likely never come off except for cleaning and will run subs 95% of the time (I say 95% because I may pick up the occasional box of supers if I can't find much else). What can I do to get this thing Hollywood quiet (predominantly) with subs? Was looking at tubes 1.625-1.750 in diameter, around 8-9" in length. If I can get away with less length, even better!

You don’t want to go short. I would use at least a 8” tube and 11-13 clipped cones. You could use K’s as they work very well with low pressure rounds. If you are using a gas operated host, it’s not going to be as quiet. If you want BB gun quiet then use a bolt action.

It would be hard to beat the coaxial suppressor for your needs.

I've never seen that design before, let alone how to make one of my own lol. I'm assuming it's basically a ported stack with a "second" tube over top?Capt. Link. wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 4:15 pm It would be hard to beat the coaxial suppressor for your needs.

Its a sub-machine suppressor that separates high pressure hi temperature gases from lower one's and allows them to expand & cool before they pass through the baffles. You can use any baffle to match cartridge choice. This design will allow nearly a full 9.00" stack of baffles with a large expansion chamber and still be compact. My choice of materials would be titanium for the outer tube stainless for the inner one.End caps of titanium, baffles of 17-4 stainless with a inconel blast baffle.
These are not difficult to build and should give you that coveted Hollywood quiet you seek.I would add a gas tube with a shutoff valve to your rifle to maximize the quiet. I have construction details for building if needed.

If you have details I wouldn't mind gibing this a go. Of all the ones I've made I've never tried anything that looks like this.
