Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

I know I have seen this on a post before, but I cant find it.. so what do you use for lubrication when drilling aluminum?

also very good is methylated spirit.
Advantage is taht there ar no oil leavings

motor oil, 3 in 1, anything that says "cutting oil" on it all work.

But i would prefer alcohol like Tobi told
it evaporates leaving the workpiece clean ,of course you can not use it in big amounts, but for small works its number one

thanks all.. I tried oil before i posted first and it would not cut at all, then i realized the bit wasnt sharpened quite right. I re ground the bit which helped, then I used alcahol as lubricant which worked great! thanks again

This is all I use on aluminum, works wonders. On everything else, I use 10/30W.

keroseen is one of the best fluids for cutting AL, I just use WD40 though.
