Interesting observation for the form 1 guys

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Interesting observation for the form 1 guys

Post by mr45auto »

I spent some time with Pat (PC Arms) and we played with my can a bit as well as some of his stuff. We tried mine with a spacer and 2 less baffles (6 out of 8) and also tried it with no baffles in the can. The can was obviously quietest with all 8 baffles but the biggest suprise was the level of suppression with no baffles at all. The can was actually comfortable to shoot without hearing protection and much quieter than I would have thought. A mere 6" long 1" tube and no guts.

Basically those interested could form 1 their tube and be able to use it as is for awhile while working out baffles. It really amazed me as to how well it worked.

I'd also like to thank Pat for letting me play around at his shop.

Hello, no big surprise, why do you think were so called PET-bottle Adapters sold in Switzerland as a silencer substitute after real sielncer were no longer available?

Just volume works fine too, especially when the bootom hole is small
firearm silencers are a contribute to environmental protection

Okay, but I'm a noobie to this stuff and was really suprised as to the degree of suppression without the baffles.

If I remember correctly, the MAC supressed 10/22 was empty except for a wipe at the very end.

looks like i was right, found this on a sniping forum
HyperDyne was designed to direct blast and sound pressure away from the shooter. Alas, our friends in the ATF decided this constituted a suppressor and
AWC saw no reason to make a comp you had to get a stamp for. Mine was grandfathered in.

looks like mine is worth a bit of $ :)

these guys have it listed at 250$ and that if they still have them, they havent been made for 6 or 7 years..
