Re: Supressor Baffle Pics!
nice pics , but...i posted this design first , patent drawing is cool , can you find something about sv98 suppressor design?
Re: Supressor Baffle Pics!
now that last one seems like an interesting design... I wonder if the fact that it tapers towards the front helps at all? and how? perhaps just a weight savings?

Re: Supressor Baffle Pics!
this one is much better than a-tec , lightier, quieter, shorter . it's quieter than it looks. the seven baffle version 21.6mm long will give you 31.5 db reduction on 308 cal.emil wrote:nice pictures iron

You might find it interesting than in 1967 at the Parker Hale site they showediron.maiden wrote:from russia with love 7.62x39
their next generation .22 suppressor which had no baffles, which looked
like the above design with the snorkel extending down from the front cap.
If memory serves the tube was around an inch and the snorkel diameter was
slightly larger than .22. They said that it was not as quiet as the older multi-washer
design.
Thank you for showing this pretty design.
Re: Supressor Baffle Pics!
The original idea goes back to the 50s where the Navy had a patent for a basic silencer / muzzle blast reducer for large machine guns. AWC and Gem-tech have been using the basic idea in the MK-9 and MK-9K for decades.Historian wrote:You might find it interesting than in 1967 at the Parker Hale site they showed

With no baffles it doesn't seem like it would work for crap. I wonder how this with the baffles works on a x39?

Here are some of baffle pics from a QSM 45 can that was sold as an OEM can with the TDI Kriss.
Hope to get a picture of the stack and a couple others today will add them as I get them.

Overall I am not impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship or machining. For a $800 can you would think they would at least take a little care with it's manufacture.
