So today (like a dumb ass) I didn't keep track of how tight my Quicksilver .223 Ti was on the end of my Sig556 barrel. After about 60 rds. it came loose just enough that a round clipped the cap in the end. It put a .030" nick on one side.
Do you think it will affect the suppressing qualities much if I chuck it up in my lathe and carefully ream out the exit cap about .040"? I suspect the difference would not be noticeable by the human ear.
Secondly (and perhaps most importantly) can I legally do such an operation on the suppressor?
