G'Day Fella's,

I recently purchased to above Remington rifle and was wondering if any body here, has removed the factory muzzle brake from it?
If so, did the muzzle thread have Loctite applied to it?

Thank you for any personal experience or knowledge on this subject!

Regards
Johno

No firsthand experience with that rifle, however that seems like a light rifle and sans the muzzle brake, I would imagine the recoil to be a bit harsh. I'm sure if you email Remington they will get back and answer your question.

G'Day Hatchet Joe,

Thanks for that advice!

What I am trying to find out is if the M/Brake, is threaded on?
I can see a joint just back from the actual muzzle, on the Barrel/Brake junction.
I want to develop a "Can" for this cartridge and well do I need to say any more!

Regards
Johno

Johno,

Got it, I think knowledge is prparedness, rather than experiment and possible mess sosmething it would be better to just shoot off an email and try that avenue, many times using a heat blower type gun, not a hairdryer but one the really hot ones that are used to remove surface mount components on a circuit board can heat up locktite enough to where it comes apart without any damage to the finish.
Good luck, I look forward to seeing any results.

Joe

A heat gun works well. I think I would have the muzzle single point cut and re-crowned though,I doubt it was at the factory.
