My step-cone 9mm baffles.

I put these up on another thread and was asked to post them here.
Here is my latest 9mm stepped cone baffle, used in an AR 9mm integral design.
Works very well, well enough that I have to be a bit possessive about it, and want to meter it.
I am not divulging exactly what I do in the ported expansion chamber area.
No fancy ports (Yet?) as I do not have a sound meter to determine if they would actually help or not.
I like simplicity, which this achieves.
Hoping it will also work well with 300 BLK.
I found that to be effective the "Steps" have to be reasonably wide, which limits their number.
I also concluded they work better with a slight compound angle and sharp edge.
The deep steps force the overall angle to 45º, 60º leaves the steps too shallow.
Using a 60º cone on the muzzle side, this leaves enough material for some other experiments.
In examining baffles after firing I note that the powder residue is
very evenly distributed.
Other baffles such as simple M's have tended to remain almost clean near the orifice, with heavier deposits around the outside.
Hard anodized for durability and easy cleaning, I clean my baffles frequently in an effort to preserve them.

Finn has only 3 patents to his name: 4,384,507; 4,588,043 & 4,590,698. The middle one is the only one that shows baffles and is the one that patented the 'M' and 'K' baffles.

Look at the ones I've done after they wear shot and you can see the burn patterns
Here is a pic I posted before.....after firing a few 22lr rounds when baffles are each rotated 180 degrees.
Evident by the residue, the blast strongly follows the cut of the mouse hole.
