Thought I'd post pics of my latest 9mm form 1 project.
This one was really fun to make.....as I wanted k baffles and make a booster for use with my G19
The k baffles, end cap and rear mount are 7075 aluminum, Tube is 6061. The booster body and piston are 316 stainless steel.
Compression spring is a stainless steel .85" x 1.5" rated at 24 lbs from MSC Industrial Supply (part#03309093).
Outer surfaces finished with LWC Duracoat flat black.
My postal scale went missing, so I'm not sure on the total weight.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out and I've so far run 60 rounds though it without failure.
(subsonic handload round of a 147gr Berry FMJ with 3.5grs of Bullseye).
I've made an adapter for my Colt 9mm carbine that screws into the rear mount.
Hope to get out to the range again soon.

Awesome work. Tackling a boosted can is not for the faint of heart. You should be really proud!

On an unrelated note, I'm going to out myself and confess my undying geekness by admitting that I am currently working on a screen accurate version of the lightsaber Luke carried in The Empire Strikes Back.

Remember Capt. Link., I'm shooting for screen accurate:). I'm using a blue LED with a dueling blade.

Nice first time build. Have you considered more notches on the piston to adjust for POI if needed ?
Is the cone angle on the K's 60 degrees ?

Mike If you want to make a light saber screen accurate may I suggest 445nm 1Watt Laser diodes with driver circuits. Each laser will put out blinding light capable of burning through dvd cases.

I built one recently (in flashlight not lightsaber form) And its so fun. Highly recommend

I did consider POI.......I machined the one notch in the piston at 12 o'clock when on my G19.
I test fired a few rounds and was happy with that grouping, marking the top of the tube.
I then installed a stainless screw inside the rear mount matching the position on the piston at 12 o'clock.
Using a round head screw the piston's notch slides onto it smoothly too. It holds great when threading on and off the barrel.

Yes....the angle on the k's is 60 degrees too.
I made all the k's the same size and was going to adjust for fit inside the tube by reducing the size of the blast chamber.
I did not want to go less than 1/2 in. for the blast chamber, so I ended up having to trim the
length of the last (3) k's to get a tight fit.

evidence shows k's are better than omegas (not starting a s--t storm here, just an observation).

That was a smart thing to do.

Works for him. I only seen 60 degree being used so far but only from guys doing F1's.
Never implied it's the go to angle for everyone doing 9mm.

Now if you want to try to enlighten all of us with your can buster knowledge maybe you will tell us what the manufacturers are using ? Looks like you are waiting for the opportune time to jump in and tell us all what we need to know so we can make better cans for ourselves. Come on, spill the beans. You're on the hook now so give up the info.

all typical k's are 60 degree (tirant 45's are not).

import a pic to cad and trace. dim the angle, its all there.

Tried to save a few of those photos but once saved they only show in a distorted way. I have seen this happen on several occassions.
Anyone know why?

The suppressor now has over 500 rounds and functions flawlessly on the G19.
Threads look great and no visible damage to the lockup areas of the slide or barrel.
I had a chance to accurately measure the spring strength in my factory cans and
I did not use the spring in the original post, I decided to use a heavier one.
From MSC, stainless steel .845x.091x1.5 rated at 49lbs.
