.... STAMPWATCH: DAY 1

Yes, it can be legal to make a silencer. For everything Form-1, from silencer designs that are easily made, to filing forms with the BATF, to 3D modeling. Remember, you must have an approved BATF Form-1 to make a silencer. All NFA laws apply.

Not sure if there is any difference between 1s & 4s, but I just got back in a form 4 we sent off July 16th, haven't seen the one from July 20th or 27th yet.

Thought they added more staff to speed things up.......my forms will be going out in about a month or so. Need to clear CLEO....takes 2-3 weeks on avg. Maybe just a crap load to go through. My thought is if ya want it ya better get it while ya can......before anything else changes

It is my understanding they have lost staff, not increased.

My day job is a DoD contractor and money is getting tight in many areas, guess same goes for ATF.

edpdx,

Where are you located? I just sent mine in two days prior to you, so I'm curious as to who's will take longer.

Do transfers take longer for first timers?

My Stamp arrived today!! I actually received my forms back 10 days ago- the f. Overall box was left empty by me. I am not sure why I left it empty now :?: Did I read in the forums that this box should be felt empty for a silencer?

Anyway, I have it in hand. What should I do with the original? I was thinking to put it in the vault after making a handful of copies to leave in the car, shooting/range bag, pistol case, etc.

Without actually counting days, it took around 6 months even.
