Re: 9mm can is done
Nice finish, no bad sound!
What materials were you using?
I too am interested in the inside of the mount.
Did you use a Dater hole in the blast chamber?
I would make the thickness around the bore a little thicker next time, will help you out.

Its 304SS for the whole can.Bendersquint wrote:Nice finish, no bad sound!

No dater hole in the blast baffle. Should I put one in?
The mount is just a 3/4 - 10 thread for the M11/9, and then I made an adapter to 1/2 - 28 shown in the pics.
There is a 1.25" blast chamber before the first baffle.
I guess I can't complain for my first F1 suppressor.
And thank you everyone.

Re: 9mm can is done
1.25" is a bit much for the blast chamber.
Where did you come up with that number?

even if I am shooting 5.56 out of it?Bendersquint wrote:1.25" is a bit much for the blast chamber.

It is what size it ended up after shoving 8 K's in it.
Should I add another K and shorten it?
Thanks

You said it was a 9mm can, didn't know it was used on a 556.Wallygator wrote:even if I am shooting 5.56 out of it?Bendersquint wrote:1.25" is a bit much for the blast chamber.

You are on your own in this regard. If 9mm is the registered caliber I would tune it for that caliber. 1 caliber will be better, one will suffer. Which one is more important to you?

Re: 9mm can is done
I forgot to mention that on the m11, the barrel sticks into the blast chamber 3/4" past the end cap. So there is only 1/2" from the end of the barrel until the first baffle. I had forgotten that until just now, so I cant put another baffle in it.Bendersquint wrote:You said it was a 9mm can, didn't know it was used on a 556.Wallygator wrote:even if I am shooting 5.56 out of it?Bendersquint wrote:1.25" is a bit much for the blast chamber.

It is primarily a 9mm can for the m11/9 subgun, but I wanted it to at least do something on other calibers.

What machines did you use? Set up?
You demonstrate high quality machining talent.
Again, excellent.

Very Nice!!!
I would put a Dater hole in the first K, if it was mine.

He may not need it since his rim is pretty thin, may have compensated enough.twodollarbill wrote:Very Nice!!!

Re: 9mm can is done
I used a mini-lathe w/ digital readout for all the baffles and end caps. I used a regular lathe (not mine) for the threading of the tube (mini lathe is too short) and a regular end mill (not mine) for the scoop and port.Historian wrote:What machines did you use? Set up?

Re: 9mm can is done
Great job, sounds great and looks like you were satisfied too. That .22 upper on the mac owned.

Re: 9mm can is done
Wow, were you shooting .223/5.56 in that? Sounds real quiet.
What did you end up for a blast chamber length?
What is your overall length and length of the individual K-baffles?
What is your bore diameter? I am looking at .410" or .420" for mine.

Re: 9mm can is done
Yes it was full power 5.56 out of a 11.5" barrel. It is quieter than my Gemtech m4-02, but it is known to not be the quietest. And I built it for the subgun, so I wasn't going for lightweight or shorter length.cpy911 wrote:Wow, were you shooting .223/5.56 in that? Sounds real quiet.

The blast chamber ended up being 1.25"
The length is 10.5" and each K is .9" long w/ the blast K being 1"
the bore diam is .400-.410"

Re: 9mm can is done
You are near Albany? I am just up the road from you in Newberg! Small world!
I am limited to 9.5 inches on the length...that is what I put on my Form1. Bummer.
So, the end of the muzzle to the snout of the first K is 1.25", is that for your 9mm or for your 5.56??? You have an adapter, is that increasing or decreasing your muzzle to snout dimension?
What is your tube OD and wall thickness?
PM sent with another question!
Thanks!
Looks and sounds awesome!

Re: 9mm can is done
Dude....your suppressor owns!
I was sitting there trying to figure out why the 9mm sounded a little louder than the AR. Duh, you were doing FA on the 9mm and I suppose we were hearing ejection port noise...
Is there a spacer ring that is installed in your suppressor that spaces the endcap from the first K-baffle?
How much does your rig weigh???
Awesome...Can't believe how well it worked on the AR...any signs of erosion of your blast baffle yet?
