MASSOUD IN FEB '10 ISSUE OF GUNS & WEAPONS FOR L.E.

Post by 700PSS »

Great to see the Massoud coming along. May I strongly suggest either supplying the 18" with the side-folding stock, as opposed to the PRS? Better yet, a 16" with the side-folding stock would be much preferred for civies not wanting to SBR (e.g. FN SCAR 17S).

Current specifications show 2 options:

-13.5" barrel w/folding adjustable stock

-18" heavy barrel w/PRS stock

Although, it's all still in development.

The Massoud is the .308 version of the ACR. I am very excited about that weapon platform.

Sweet weapon.

Could very well be since the ACR can do 6.5, 5.56, and 6.8. I just know for sure it's doing .308/7.62 NATO.

Article says that any .308 based cartridge (e.g. .22-250, .243, 6.5mm-08, 7mm-08, 338 Federal and more) could be done with only a barrel change.

Won't be cheap if, like the ACR, they each have their own piston built in.

The Massoud's piston design is still top secret for now. It's said to be a new design and as simple and reliable as possible.

I've done work photography work with 45 or so manufacturers within the firearm community, my images have been used for catalogs, magazines, covers, etc. I have also shot work for the US Military. I am prior service and a full time LEO.

I now also shoot and write for Military Times. My primary focus will stay with weapons, accessories and related equipment reviews. Manufacturers can reach me through any of the boards. Have something new? Let me know.
