MS3 sling?

Post by Theprofessor »

Anyone know when this baby is due to be released? Worth waiting for or just get the MS2?

No idea when the MS3 will be coming out, but I have to say I love my MS2. I use it a lot as a one-point camera strap, which it works perfect as! The only compliant I have is that the webbing material is a velcro magnet.

I didn't care for the MS2... and yes it stuck to velcro like GLUE!

Redesigned clips/clasps from what I understand. The 3 uses something along the lines of HK hooks vs. the butterfly clips on the MS2.

Check the Airsoft Forums, its probably released in quantities over there.

They don't give a F%$K on us REAL gun owners.

From the photos I would say it's the clasps. If this is the only difference.. then I would stay with the MS2 for me since I use the fisherman's hook to loop into paracord that's attach to my camera. If it has the long clasp, then there would be less flexibility that I like.

I do hate the velcro magnet.. but I really don't have any velcro hooks that I keep near by to have it hook into. I also wish the strap was a little wider.. but otherwise it's awesome.

My only gripe is that there isn't a pad for it.

I saw it the other day. Chris/Travis/Steve were using that sling. Looked pretty nice, but I wouldn't retire my MS2 just to get it. Only thing I thought was nicer that the MS2 was the clasp for the single point to 2 point conversion. It didn't have a locking mechanism so it's faster to work/clip on their RSA's.

I'm just waiting on the RSA. I'll stick with my MS2. Hopefully, any day now.

I love my MS2 (I was using it hunting yesterday), but I wish thye didn't use such fine threaded material.
I can pick that thing up by just laying my rough man hands on it and lifting. The fineness if the material sticks like velcro to my rough skin.
Also mabey a stronger spring on the clasp that has the little lanyard on it. It hasn't failed on me but I fear it will get slightly pulled and the gun will fall to the ground.

Saw one a MD class in September. I like it. Would not throw out the MS2 for one either, but of note I bet it is nearly half the wieght if the MS2. So I am waiting for the the MS3 for future purchases.

I wouldn't think it's half the weight. Maybe the clasp is lighter but it's peanuts in weight savings.

I definitely will need a new sling soon, my MS2 clasps are almost completely worn through. I carry all day though so I have definitely put it through its paces. Should these last more than a year?

I can get pics

I'd be interested to see. Mine has been fine so far.

Here it is, the buttstock side clip has spent half the time on this buttstock half the time on a quick detach clip on my Magpul UBR.

 . Man that has either being carried 24x7 or you have been swinging from it! Magpul needs to use you as a product tester!

Magpul owes you a new one just for loyalty of use (besides warrenty) 24/7 and to keep you alive.
