I am altering and reringing a carbon float rod. The ring whippings are covered in a hard epoxy coating. I fear that however carefully I try to chip this epoxy coating off that I could damage the blank especially on the very thin hollow tip section. On Google it is recommended to use a solvent of acetone or paint stripper but will these solvents damage the carbon blank? Thanks in advance.
