For anyone who has a Multimount do you know if the fixed barrel thread mount is just the thread pattern it's purchased with or is it a fixed barrel unit that comes with an included piston but could take any other multimount thread piston. We don't sell gemtech but a customer has a M13.5x1LH LID for a pistol and an AR15 that's threaded M13.5x1LH but the can needs a fixed barrel mount and was thinking we could order him one that's 1/2x28 and he could just move his piston to that fixed barrel mount when it's not on his pistol.
Thanks in advance

Re: Multimount Fixed barrel THREADMOUNT questions
The fixed mount replaces the LID (piston) mount and comes in the barrel thread pattern of your choice (from the list). Multiple thread patterns for multiple hosts is not a problem, he can get LIDs and fixeds in multiple thread patterns and swap between them all.
The threads into the suppressor are the same for both.
Looks like the fixed mount design has actually changed from the old one I have.

Re: Multimount Fixed barrel THREADMOUNT questions
Thanks for the reply. I understand how a Multimount works. Gemtech doesn't make a M13.5x1LH fixed adapter and I'm trying to determine if they use their standard piston that's used on the LID in the fixed mount or if the shiny silver thing is just a nongalling steel insert.

Ah, sorry about that. Didn't pick up on that in the original post.

Re: Multimount Fixed barrel THREADMOUNT questions
I don't know if you ever got the info you wanted, but my fixed barrel MultiMount adapter (which has the old external pattern) has no moving parts or provisions for moving parts. The shiny silver lining that the barrel threads onto is not removable, nor does it appear there's any way to fit an LID in the adapter. If you want I can post pictures of it later when I get home.jurist wrote:Thanks for the reply. I understand how a Multimount works. Re: Multimount Fixed barrel THREADMOUNT questions
the fixed mount i have just replaces the lid but with the piston as a fixed piece. I think they sell a spacer that takes the place of the spring so you can convert your LID to fixed for $15.
