at first i was having buyers remorse about getting this boosterless SOS-45 can. after i fired a couple rounds through it wet though, i was very impressed with the Db reduction. it was very pleasant to shoot with out ears on. the only down side is that it doesnt cyle the glocks at all. Over all, i think its an okay suppressor for $250+stamp.

Nice setup. What'd Gemtech charge for the "upgrade" and what was actually done to it?

My LT told me no on the can on-duty. I subsequently quit carrying my AR on duty (Pic Below) because I realized if I had to shoot someone with it,
I would loose it to the evidence room for eternity.

I was having problems with my M4-96D sticking to the bi-lock after use. This is ultimatly why they improved the can to what we now know as the G5. Gemtech cut off the rear of the can and attached the G5 system which does not allow gasses to directly contact the spring. No problems at all with the G5. If I had to do it over again I would probably go with the Halo. Having bi-locks for each host gets expensive!

I did the exact same thing to my M4-96D. From the pics you can see the laser weld of the G5 module and the new blast baffle QD socket. Gemtech did not alter the baffle stack. They did turn the endcap strike smooth on the business end. $250 plus shipping and insurance was the price and I had it back in less than a month. I am waiting for my HALO tax stamp right now, should be approved soon.I am very happy with the G5 upgrade.

VERY interesting. I wonder if they will do the same thing for the TPRS?

Thanks for the pics and info guys. I will say though that I have no problems with it sticking. Maybe I Don't shoot it enough when I shoot, to cause the buildup that some are experiencing. I've used SUPERLUBE on my spring/bilock since I've owned it and the 223 can comes off just fine after 100-200 hundred rounds. I dont shoot the TPRS more than 40 rounds or so at a time since it's only host is a bolt-gun.

$250 is a bit steep though for something I don't have any issues with. Especially since they are now shipping their new bi-lock .22 can system.

I wish they would update their damn website already.

A citizen noted the hammer back on the 1911 carried in the waist band by Charlie Miller, Texas Ranger. The Citizen asks, "Isn't That Dangerous?" Charley replied, " I wouldn't carry the son of a bitch if it wasn't dangerous."

cycling, fitting

Post by bearclaw46 »

the cyclilng & fitting were great, no problems whatsoever. Fit and finish were par excellance!!! It's a quality product as far as I'm concerned. I shot 50 rounds thru it and it was pretty cold out and my fingers were getting a bit numb but as far as fit and cycling, the thing performed flawlessly. Another plus is the slide stays back on the last shot, just like a 45. Tactical Solutions makes good stuff.
