**FREE** WIN A DTA Nano!!!! Enter in the Design Contest

Post by James DeGroat »

Now that I have your attention on winning a FREE DTA Nano suppressor (winner still has to cover the NFA tax stamp).

This will be a design contest that will run until February 28th 2010, winner will be picked on March 1st 2010.

What I'm looking for is a design/look for my company name "DeGroat Tactical Armaments, LLC." and website name "www.ArmamentSales.com". I'm tired of using the standard fonts all the time and would like something unique to use instead.

I would like it to be professional looking and eye catching all at the same time.

How to enter:
Come up with a nice design for both the company name and website name and post them here as an image.

Rules:
You can post as many ideas as you want, but DO NOT update your post, just make a new post.

I will pick a winning design on March 1st, so you still have time to learn how to use Photoshop

If posting a design, be sure you can own a suppressor in your state as the Nano suppressor will be the only prize given and the winner will be responsible for all NFA taxes.

If you have any questions please feel free to post them. I will also be posting updates and more info as time goes on.

Let the fun begin.

Are we free to use images (and modify them) from your current website?

Actually, it looks like you're using static HTML pages. While you're at it, why not upgrade to a CMS? Drupal is free, open-source, and you can do some great stuff with it. It would make managing your site a lot easier, I think. I like that you don't go overkill on the flash, by the way, it's appreciated.

Very true, my website is a PITA to update and that's why I don't update it too often.

Might start working on a new website design next month.

Ok I was thinking you were looking for a different type of font, not a new logo so here is another try. :D

What is the primary demographic you'd like to reach with your new designs? Are you looking for something that could be easily used on paper/engraved or do motion/special effects appeal to you? Is there an idea or theme you'd like the new look to capture?

I'm not much of an artist myself, but I thought some more info on the task might help those better equipped than I to create something more in-line with what you're after.

I'm looking for a design that I can use on T-shirts, letter heads, my website, laser engraving, and so forth. Basically I need my company name and website to look like a logo. Example: Colt, S&W, Ruger, Glock, Walther, and so forth, all of those company names have a distinctive look and that's what I want is a distinctive look for "DeGroat Tactical Armaments, LLC" and "www.ArmamentSales.com".

Ok this post is to help explain what I'm looking for. As of right now Finn is the closest as to what I'm looking for and that is a unique look for the company name. Fireman is also on track with some of his stuff.

Guys don't worry about adding pictures and stuff like tshirt designs just yet. Work on the look of the text. Take my logo for example, I have a normal black and white version and I have a cool 3D version. If you guys want you can try and do something like that with the text, but the black and white version needs to be unique looking.

Again mainly I'm looking for a look for the text more so than a tshirt or banner add.

There is still two weeks to work on this so keep the ideas flowing.

So you want a new logo, not a redesigned DTA logo, and you want a cooler font?

Also for a Tshirt design, I was thinking a skull with crossed M9's(suppressed) wearing a USGI kevlar helmet with a NV mount. Or instead of the M9's I can use miniguns. With the new logo(working on it) on the front left chest.

No new logo, just a unique look for the company name and website address

It should bring attention to the things you want your business to be associated with. The minigun is easy. The biggest and smallest suppressors on the market are harder. Letterhead-size suppressors might as well be tubes of cookie dough without a host attached. The host should accentuate the size of the suppressor if it can. Someone on here had a vz61 with 12inch suppressor that would show the size of the big one, or the finger grooves on a glock 26 would give a sense of scale of the small one.

If anyone wants a full-size version of the minigun 'D' pm me email and request jpg or xcf file.
