I have a .30-06 and a .243 Remington Model 700 that I wanted to thread to accept a Silencerco Harvester. Both barrels measure 0.663" outside diameter at the point that I want them threaded.
Is that too thin of a barrel to thread? If I have it threaded at 9/16-24 will there be enough muzzle thickness to be safe?
If I go that route, I would have to use a 9/16-24 to 5/8-24 thread adapter. Are there any concerns with using such an adapter?

5/8" should be fine. If you need to go to 9/16, then adapter should also work.
But unless muzzle isn't concentric to rifling or the Gunsmith screws up, 5/8 should pose no problem.
.625" = 5/8
They knew that you might want to thread muzzle for break, etc.

Re: Threading a Remington Sporter Barrel
I had a Model 700 .243 with a sporter barrel threaded. Yes, 5/8 X 24 worked fine. However, in hindsight, I should have followed the advice of Mike at Tornado Tech. and had it cut down to about 17" first. You will likely experience significant P.O.I. shift with a longer sporter profile barrel. Mine is 4.5 MOA.
