Even with my spr/m4 I still get gassed in the face. I can't/don't want to spend any more on my AR. Won't this fulton armory adjustable gas tube acomplish the same thing as the switch block at 1/4 the price? I've got a factory bushy upper with a 14.5" barrel and ARMS rail.

cheap alternative to the switch block?
It depends on what you want to accomplish. Remember that the Switchblock is designed to be a tool-less adustable gas block with three fixed settings tuned for unsuppressed, suppressed, and off.
The part you link to is a continuously-variable adjustment that requires a tool to adjust and has no fixed settings or any way to return to a known setting other than to "Record the clock orientation of the Allen key so that you can return to that setting for that load".
so while I would argue that the Fulton piece doesn't come close to doing the same thing as the Switchblock, YMMV.

Re: cheap alternative to the switch block?
Well, I have no idea what the cost of a Switchblock actually is...But, Give Marty at Teppo Jutsu a call. Works very similar to the Switchblock and likely reasonably priced.peytont wrote:Even with my spr/m4 I still get gassed in the face. I can't/don't want to spend any more on my AR. Several customers have approached us to develop adjustable gas blocks. One reason is to tame the .308 gas operated rifles when using a suppressor. The other is to be able to totally switch off the gas system on the AR-15s when using some of our subsonic cartridges, for the ultimate in "silent duty". We have several designs, some of which are being used by law enforcement and military personnel to great effect. We have a new version that we hope to premier soon that should be of interest to many of you:
