I've been happy with my 700p/leupold m4/badger combo. Found a load thats getting 3/8-1/2" groups when I do my part.
The can is an AWC spectrum 90, not the newest can but it was bought unused from Paranoia for cheap
http://www.snipercountry.com/Articles/R ... iggers.asp is a good article if you don't like the feel of your trigger. I set mine to about 1-1/2# and it works quite well.
I'd recomend you get some 600 grit sandpaper to break some edges on the feed lips to help feed from the internal mag when you have 5 rounds in it.
Let us know how you like the rifle.

I'll try to find an article I used to adjust my rem trigger, and I'd recomend you get some 600 grit sandpaper to break some edges to help feed from the internal mag when you have 5 rounds in it.

let me know about the trigger tuning article.
will keep ya'll posted on how good the rifle is.
picked up my baby today.
i originally asked about the stainless ltr, called rem and they said it has not been made since 2000. so i tell my dealer "get me the regular ltr(we had talked about the stainless)"
so, i go to make final payment and pick up my new toy and whammo, he managed to get ahold of the stainless ltr for me.
so i ended up getting what i wanted. and im happy.

Or is it a aftermarket barrel?
NFAtalk.org
arevalo: bone stock, only fiddled with the trigger and threaded the end of the barrel for a can. I shot a couple 1" groups at 200 yards this weekend, the larger groups were my fault.
I did go through several dozen loads to find the one the barrel liked though.
Edit: Mine is not an LTR, just the basic 700p with 26" barrel.
Just uploaded a pic from 200yards

Saw an interesting post on snipershide, a guy from Leupold was mentioning they are coming out with a 'mark 2' line of tactical scopes. Not sure if it will be replacing the PR line, but they are priced a bit lower.
Midway USA has a few listed here.
I think they said they will have fewer options then the mark-4, which probably allows them to mass produce them for lower cost.
The 3-9x and 4-12x have 1/2 moa adjustment, the 6-18 has 1/4 moa adjustment.
Might be worthwhile to look at. Set a price your willing to spend, keep your eyes open, and when the time comes pick the best one for your usage that you can afford.

What you have sounds like a 700LV-SF (still a great gun). Got a pic yet??
