Heard today that the sub-sonic Remington ammo was having problems.
Has anyone else heard of this? If true, is just certain lots, or is this just a rumor?
I just bought a second case, and was curious.

300 BLK ammo recall??????

Re: 300 BLK ammo recall??????
I was contacted by Remington this week and they are recalling ammo on a voluntary basis. There have been some failure to fire issues because of primers. Anyhow, not a huge deal unless it went to an LE agency or it is your home defense ammo.

Just the most recent batch of subsonic. Most people are refusing to return it. A few bad primers got mixed in.

Re: 300 BLK ammo recall??????
Bill had said it was a tolerence issue. All of the primers had an 0.002" gap between the anvil and compound as opossed to contact, which doesnt make them all fail, but does make failures a little more common.silencertalk wrote:Just the most recent batch of subsonic. Dammit.
Re: 300 BLK ammo recall??????
My brother must have some of it, he fired only 8 rounds out of a box and had a FTF. It was a bad primer.

Re: 300 BLK ammo recall??????
I've shot 450 rounds of the subsonic now (through my 3 different .300BLKs). I had two rounds through my Rem 700 that needed two strikes to fire. The two ARs in .300BLKs have Geissele triggers and I haven't had any issues with either of those. I'm not returning my ammo, these are range toys for me with subsonic. The supersonic stuff will be for hunting.

Re: 300 BLK ammo recall??????
No matter how much ammo is made, it evaporates like a drop of water hitting a hot stove, and we lost about four weeks from the primer issue. We are tripling capacity and should have no problem matching demand but I don't expect to reach equilibrium until the end of the year. Then we will should be where I originally predicted we would be now. Sorry. There is not going to be brass for a few months as all of the cases are needed for ammo. That is not good, I know. We need cases for people also - but until back orders of ammo are filled we won't have them.
