Decided on a DIY GAP camo pattern. Took about 4 hours start to finish, but much of that was simply drying time.

Scope is a holdover until the 2.5-10x PST gets here.

That looks good! What paint did you use? Can you walk me through the process?

It's pretty simple - I cleaned with denatured alcohol, then sprayed everything khaki. Masked off what I wanted to STAY khaki with blue painter's tape and then hit it all with black. Masked off the black spots I wanted then hit with green. Waited for it all to dry for about 30 mins and then took off all the tape and hit it with about 5 coats of flat clear.

The paint is krylon fusion camo. Not incredibly durable but easy to do and re-do!

Is that stuff in a can or do you have to have a compressor?

I used Krylon Camo on one of my guns. As you said it's not the most durable, but if the gun is prepared right and a good sealer is used the paint bonds pretty well. I decided to remove the paint and found that it was very tough to get off, or at least harder than I imagined.
