7.62x54R
i have been reloading for close to a year. i think i have become fairly proficient at it, thus far. i took 2 deer last year with a rifle for which there is no factory ammo mad (338-06AI). i am already reloading for several different rifles, and about to start on my .44 mag... but.... i want to take my M44 mosin nagant into the woods as my brush gun. the ballistics are supposedly identical to the .308 win. does anyone have experience reloading for this firearm? any suggestions for primers and powder selection? thnx!

Large rifle primers, cheap, heavy bullets, and whatever powder the load data says.
I use trailboss and shoot 200 grain cast bullets. No recoil, and shoots well inside of 75 yards.

For supersonics i would just buy a tin case from J&G or AIMSUrplus and call it a day.
For subsonics Trailboss can't be beat as long as you got a can on the end!

Sierra and Hornady make some decent bullets for it for hunting, and there's a couple of YouTube videos w/ YHM cans on the Mosin and seems to do well. Go for it!
