Sabrewerks "13" KOP, how it works

Post by Smilodon »

Well guys, decided to start a new thread on this. I've gotten some more photography done in the last couple of days. And we just sent a PO off to our Defense contractor for production parts. We've made great strides on our website, so that should be ready soon. Our system is known as "KOP", for Kalashnikov Optics Platform. As always, feel free to e:mail me at [email protected] with any questions you might have. Should be about 5 weeks till we get our first run parts. A pic or a few is worth a thousand words, so here it goes.

Please remember this is our first test mule with prototype base, it's been tweeked as we made revisions. Inserts are near production items though.

Nice looking for sure. Installation on a complete gun requires removal of the barrel and sight base?

My Saiga that's in the "Knob Creek" thread viewtopic.php?f=57&t=97008 was done w/out removing the barrel in under an hr. our first try. So, you won't have to mess with timing or headspacing. Speaking of Knob Creek, sorry about the Knob Creek dust in the 1913 rail in that pic. Guess I should of fired up the air compressor and blown it off.

Cheers,

Fred

P.S. I have accurate pricing available now.

I get it now, so there's that initial base, then the attachments go onto that for the various rails and mounts.

Took me a while

Very cool.

I failed to mention an important point of this system, you can fold your stock w/out removing the optic! :D

Nah, it's a mount for a regular suppressor, once the excess barrel is removed. Pending my Form 1 approval. Soon I hope. I have an AAC Krinkov can that will reside on the threads under that cap.

Both 1913 rail mounts have irons built into them. Aimpoint micro, RMR, and our new Aimpoint M2/30mm red dot mounts also have built in BUIS that will cowitness through the associated optic. I'd need the measurement at the RSB to know for sure as to fitment. I've not had one to measure. Based on pictures it looks to be and odd trunion from anything else....almost a hybrid between AKM/RPK. I've got another customer that just acquired an S308 that is going to measure it and let me know as soon as it shows up. I'll keep you posted. e:mail me if you like.

Cheers,

Fred
