New crossbow type device

Post by jlwilliams »

I saw this on another forum.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nplJ5C7WInE?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nplJ5C7WInE?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Here is a link if the embed doesn't work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nplJ5C7WInE

It's called a 'woodland survival flipper' It's an arrow launcher reminiscent of the old WWII OSS mini crossbows.

I thought it looked neat, though a bit underdeveloped.

I didn't watch all 8+ minutes of the video, but what sold me was how it looks when collapsed. That would be a SWEET item to have in your camping gear! Not just for hunting, fishing, or survival, but for simple and quiet shooting fun with family on the camp grounds.

My intelligence is like a suppressed rimfire pistol. You may not be able to hear it, but it certainly always hits its mark.

Cool gadget. The only trouble that I see is with the elastic bands, they usually dry out and break when you don't have any spares, I'd replace them with a steel coiled spring or the elastic tubing on a spear gun.
