Not what you were asking for, but here's my $.02.

Save yourself some time and effort and go to snipercentral.com and order boxes of HSM 175 grain subsonic moly loads for $19.80/ box. In my experience, they shoot almost as good (i.e. SD of 18 and fps spread of 28) as the 200 grain factory Lapua subsonics ($50/ box) (i.e. SD of 13 and fps spread of 22) for less than a $1/ piece. I've tried reloading subsonic 308s. I've failed. Just can't get the right powder (or mix of powder) to come close to what these two factory loads are capable of.

My other free advice. Don't waste your time and or money on TTI, EBR or Corbon. They were horrible, consistency-wise, out of my 16 inch Savage 10FP or my Dad's Remington 700 SPS.

I'm getting 1.5 MOA frmo 168gr Hornady OTM and 9.0 gr Trailboss. excluding brass cost (which can be reloaded indefinitely at these pressures), i'm reloading these for less than $0.20/round.

If you want the Lapua sub round for .308 you have to look at the VIT powders. Tin star is so clean and with 10.5 grains it is very much like the Lapua load. And you can buy the lapua subsonic bullet 200gr .308 specialty designed for sub flight.

I just loaded some 180 grain round nose Sierra's with 10.5 grains of Trail boss and Federal large magnum primers. OAL finished was 2.753" which left about 0.015" of freebore. Very stable in flight through 20" 1:10 barrel. Didn't have time to chrono them but will try next weekend to chronograph the rounds. They are still subsonic and I suspect I can go up to about 11.3 grains of powder before they start to sonic crack.

A buddy loads his with 13.8 grains of Trailboss with magnum primers and 220 grain round nose through a Rem 700 AAC-SD, 22" 1:10 barrel. He's subsonic and getting 1" consistent groups at 100 yards.

BTW- I used a bore gauge from Hornady to measure the max COAL in my Savage then subtracted 0.015" for a little clearance. As soon as I find a recipe my Savage likes to eat I intend to play with the freebore to see if it likes more or less jump before engaging the lands and grooves.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

I was maxed at 10.5 for my gun to stay subsonic. If you get a chance to fine that tin star you will be much happier with it's results. It seems to have more of push then a thump, and it's super clean. At 10.6 matches the Lapua 200gr.Sub load exactly.

This works in my Savage with 20" barrel, 1:10 twist with AAC Cyclone K:

primer pocket reamed and flash hole deburred
Fed large magnum rifle primer
10.7 grains of Trailboss
Sierra 220 grain Round nose
COAL 2.778" which leaves 0.015" of free bore (measured from tip. I measured up 0.004" in variance of bullet length I need to get a ogive measurement tool)

Avg 1060 fps, MOA shooter at 50 yards
@50 yards- 1029 fps/518 ft/lbs energy
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
