Is there any modern pistol that shouldn't be suppressed?

Post by Vesper »

Is there any modern pistol that shouldn't be suppressed? Can suppressing certain modern pistols damage them? I even read on anther forum the concern someone had for shooting striker fired pistols suppressed, any cause for concern? Curious what you guys think. I know HK USPs offer different recoil springs for running suppressed. I dont see the same treatment on other pistols. Trying to cut threw it all and lose the misinformation.

Beretta PX4's aren't a candidate for suppression due to their rotating barrel.

Any tilt or fixed barrel I would personally suppress.

I think there's another pistol with a rotating barrel.

Alright. Cool. I'm looking at buying an HK VP9. HK parts has RCM threaded barrels. Gonna throw a Octane 45 on it. Was concerned because HK doesn't have threaded barrels yet and thought that might be because it shouldn't be suppressed.

My guess is that they don't have barrels because its practically a brand new product.

The Beretta Cougar line, the predecessor of the PX4, had rotating barrels.

Except for the suppression part, they were very, very good pieces.

The Keltec 22 magnum pistol warranty if void if you use a silencer on the threaded barrel.
NFA shooters blow their load with only one pull of the trigger.

I saw a few threads over on HK Pro about VP9s having a problem with suppressors, but I've seen a few youtube vids with no problem. I'd recommend doing a search over on there. No problems with the RCM barrels they are top notch just only lack the polygonal rifling.
