Hi all,
New guy here. I figured this would be a common question, but couldn't find it on the board (sorry if I missed it). I've been debating between a GSG 1911 and the Ruger 22/45. I like the idea of the ol' reliable Ruger Mk, but I also really like the smaller, if not compact, pistols. M&P22 looks nice, too. Heard too many bad things about the Walthers, but maybe I'm wrong. I know I'm not wrong about the SR22, which was my first choice--I was able to try it, and it wouldn't reliably cycle subsonic with a Pilot 2.
Does anyone have any recommendations/insights into the sub-$400 pistols? Thanks!

I'd actually prefer a Ruger Mk II (and not the 22/45, just the vanilla 22)...

Awesome pistol. I love mine. Easily digested more ammo than any other firearm I've ever owned. Never jams.L1A1Rocker wrote: Mk II 22/45
Only issue I have is sometimes the trigger pin will try to walk on you. Push it back in place and shoot some more.

Ruger - it can take a licking and keep on ticking.
Just make sure you have 4.5 inch or shorter barrel so bulk ammo
won't go trans or super sonic and be noisy.

I have a Browning Buckmark with a Tac-Sol barrel and a few SIG .22 adapter kits for my SIG's.
May get a Ruger SR22 threaded next.
